– Edgar Allan Poe
Different points of view define subconscious in many ways. For Nietzsche, Freud and other thinkers of our “modern” time it was like the engine, often imperceptible to many, who ruled the world and reigned even our most trivial acts. Nietzsche not only addressed it from a philosophical point of view, but also philological (and, of course, literary) .The subconscious represented only superficially in our day to day because we could not get to control it or sense it at all, and besides, we restrained it with fear. That fear is what Freud used to create psychoanalysis that would qualify crazy eventually everyone for any reason.
Edgar Allan Poe wrote most of his work swinging between a Platonic (and suicidal) love and dreams caused by alcohol and opiates. Coleridge claimed that his famous poem Kubha Klan that tells a vivid image of the eponymous river in Malaysia, grew out of a pipe dream.
What’s more, we have a literary device called “flow with (s) science”* (i.e. stream of consciousness), which literally reflects all that our consciousness is registering, much of which is subconscious.
Given the innumerable evidences that we dispose, we can only raise a critical spirit. Literature, or whatever, interestingly, to most of us, categorized as “literature” or “good literature,” seems out of control. We do not want to assume that a narrative lacks any control, unlike the author, and later readers, which are exercising it, but not a single concrete concept. From the conception of the first idea to the inquisition of the last backup, if there would be any, it has been created a discourse that is not a world, but an entire universe that has developed parallel (and sometimes analogy) to what we call “universe “.
That’s why literature represents a degree of reality of which we all participate, but which we seldom are aware of. Life, seen as a narrative, is a story from beginning to end, despte so many sub-stories and inter-stories there would be. Then, each story is a subplot more from life, to which we should pay full attention when present, as all other things in life.
At the end of the day, the only specific narratives with a greater degree of control and effect (more or less) expected, are orders. No poem, at any time, would be assertive, or critical, if it would fit forms, laws, content and, most of all appearances. Why Usher’s house collapsed? Because otherwise, precisely, would has been built.
Or so spontaneous and original movements like Punk, Does anybody really believe that someone “planned” the punk? Does anybody really believe that sometime was “organized” the romanticism? What’s really amazing is that this chaos emerged a unique label with which, or rather, all with which, we label all of these acts which are commonly called history.
And another point is intertextuality, not only between texts, but between realities, or between texts and realities. What you write, or reflects in some way, somehow is conditioned by the actions you’re doing (and are being done to you). What is really complicated, not control it, but accept it, and from this point reflect what everyone wants to reflect. It’s not what you like, liked (or will like), but something that you really. Something that you look at and think, “Okay, I’ve been able to see my own limitations, even those who never will be overcomed, and have created something consistent with the time I was doing, well, somehow I created something I represents me and my ideas more of what I have spoken, done or ever thought. ”
Let the subconscious: All this would have been impossible to have taken a rational, analytical mind, diss-arming, we could say, because it would have left no room for anything else. In short, you’d be doing anything but that does not mean that you were making a living, ie enjoying it.
Subconscious is a term too vague and ambiguous to denote what it really means. Nietzche preferred to call, even unconscious, but supra-conscious “to give you more rather than less,” and he was right, if it is true that the subconscious holds the majority of life itself, Or do we always aware of our breathing, throb, think and feel? And that others do?
Cartesian doubt has always worked as a razor Ockham, if only I think and I am aware of my consciousness, I just am real, and the world since before my only exists in my head. However, what might be inside your head is the explanation of all that trouble you call life, that is, YES there is a text, and a life outside “your” text and “your” life that are no more than actions and reactions without any foundation, as might appreciate a dog, but incredibly, for one person, or many (have come by themselves to that conclusion or it was imposed on them) is a tangible reality, is something that believe, like money, as opposed to things that do not believe, how to live their dreams, and yet everything is within this large macro-reality, which can increase both (always), which prevents us from seeing many details as important as the final work itself, like a light that blinds you and not let you see what is reflecting in your eyes, which attributed color later, in milliseconds, to attribute a signifcado: “This I understand / what know / understand (I agree), this does not. ”
The final problem is to think if human beings actually do things beyond their own interests, or is capable of faking much as to mislead others to do things for them, when in fact makes for himself. If this hypothesis is correct, all the research, literature and, in short, all those things that apparently have not been created to make money, have actually created to win a lot, or to belong to an elite group of frustrated dictators who were content finally seeing their print reviews as others. I disagree on this point, and, oblivious to the inclinations that each may have to create something, I think that the best things do not come out of apathy or boredom (or envy or self-centeredness), but otherwise, of share with others our own ignorance, to create such fantastic stories as reality but show us visions that would otherwise go unnoticed. How to Live (or not live). Words are abstractions (even objects) inert yet in a story come alive, as the largest exhibitions of life ended in death, like all gladiators.
We do not need to plan everything, we have enough knowledge and willingness to learn and do it ourselves, of course, with the help of others. Everything takes on a meaning and importance as if there were nothing else in the world, when we pay our attention.
“I spent a lot of time stuck in my head and I ended up losing.”
– Edgar Allan Poe
